Document Release 1 - ALPHA!

- eHome MSN remote -

Overview

This program will sit in your task tray and watch for MSN instant message. When one is received it will check against its internal database and if found execute any other windows  program. This will allow you to control and automate HA tasks. (or really anything)

Installing

Just run the installer. When the program starts up it will minimize to your task tray.

First time setup (MSN must be installed and running)

If its running in the tray, left click and restore it. Now click the config button. Trigger text tells the program that the incoming message is one that is to be acted on. (the default is HA--) Silent mode stops the normal MSN window from receiving any message. You would leave this off for your testing (so you can confirm you are receiving messages) but turn it on when you have gotten everything working.

Example

So we are on our way home from work and want to tell the wife (on the kitchen touch screen computer of course) we are on our way. From your work computer bring up Windows messenger and type in 'HA-on my way'  (without the quotes) Once the message is received the shell command will be executed and the eHome socket server will send a OSD message to the kitchen computer.
